Expectations are not rules, they are sort of a path to be followed. While we still handle them as the same as rules, we give more leeway as they deal more with morals and how “good” an individual is. Essentially, it is a way to be a better member and give clarifications on what we have in mind here at Icarus. We do not punish members as severely if they are going against a Deployment Expectation, but we cannot stress enough that our values during our operations lie in the section below.
DE-1.1: Do not reserve a role if you cannot attend an operation. If you can no longer attend an operation and currently have a reserved role, notify the host as soon as possible. If you attempt to show up after declining an operation, your option to choose roles will be forfeit.
DE-1.2: On time is late. Show up early to operations to ensure everything is in order before the operation briefing has started.
DE-1.2.1: If you are going to be late, inform the host of your tardiness before the operation begins and your role will still be reserved for another hour. If you arrive outside
DE-1.2.2: If you fail to inform the host of your tardiness and show up late, your role is forfeit as soon as the operation begins.
DE-1.3: Hosts should test the server 24 hours minimum before the operation begins to ensure that delays do not happen an hour or so before the event. Likewise, if delays do occur, attendees should be notified.
DE-1.3.1: Failure to host your own scheduled operation is your own fault. Oversleeping is not a reasonable excuse. You must have a sufficient reason to be excused. While we recognize life events happen, the operations that are hosted are posted a week in advance. If you cannot host it, cancel it.
DE-1.4: If you are unable to attend for 4 or more operations consecutively, notify a person of authority who is able to excuse your absence. If you are absent from 6 or more operations consecutively without reason you will be removed from the server. You are welcome back at any time if you wish to continue your attendance.
DE-2.1: All members have a duty to respect, and be patient with others. We offer this community to a wide demographic of players so people may be uneducated on certain aspects and may not be as aware of their environment and experiences, and thus, may struggle to grasp certain concepts and circumstances. We ask that you help these individuals and guide them as they learn new skills instead of berating them for not knowing everything.
DE-2.2: Should discourse engage between two members, within reason, it is the duty of others to disengage the parties involved and deescalate the situation.
DE-2.2.1: Ultimately it is the hosts, Squad leaders, Team leaders, and administrators authority to ensure that irrational arguments are not to be had, and that if they do, are resolved peacefully.
DE-3.1: Feedback that is harmful and negative is not tolerated and will be removed as a result. Constructive criticism and feedback is welcome and appreciated for hosts. To ensure constructive criticism, open feedback with one point of good emphasis, one point of improvement, and another point of good emphasis.
DE-3.2: Hosts that are disrespectful or rude to their attendees are not welcome to host again. Attendees give their personal time to attend your operations and contribute to your hard work. If you feel a host is not acting appropriately, please report them to an administrator for review with evidence.
DE-3.3: Attendees who are disrespectful or rude to their hosts are not welcome. Members must follow all rules and expectations that the host has set as they have spent their personal time preparing an operation for your enjoyment. Attendees that are rude or disrespectful should be reported to an administrator for review with evidence.
DE-3.4: All members must respect the spawn area. Unless there is a designated firing range, or the host has given explicit permission, no intentional discharging of any firearm is permitted. Also, no vandalism is permitted around the spawn area.
